Where was cameroon music 7years ago.? Cameroon music and it’s artists we’re at a struggling face, trying to get their music heard by the locals, trying to win international markets through collaborations and trying to gain attention from awards both home and out of the country.
One of the fortunate artist from cameroon to put the nation on the map by being the very first female urban artist to win an Afrima in Texas USA. At the same time to have an international collaboration with Eddy KENZO from Uganda which was and still is a hit till present date with over 4.8M+ views and still counting.

Gasha narrates how the collaboration with Eddy KENZO happened and how she had already told her team mates at the time that she was going to collaborate with this guy regardless of what so ever potholes that may show up on the way. Luckily enough for her during the time which she has flew from cameroon to Texas, Eddy KENZO was also present in the same hotel which she was and had to attend the award ceremony as well. And after Gasha won the award and constantly spoke to her team mates about wanting to collaborate with kenzo, calls were made from management to producer to management and an appointment for set up for her to come to a studio which Eddy KENZO would be recording at the next day.
“When we got to the studio, I sat cool at my corner and Eddy was there doing his recording, then he came to me and asked, do you sing? I said yes. He wanted me to do a little harmony for his song, which I did, he loved my voice and I got into the recording box and did it. Then he said please do you speak french? I said Yes. He said I should please help with the translation of some notes sent to him via his email which was in french and I did.” Then he said “you were at afrima.? I said yes. He said “you won” I said yes 😅.
And I said I want to do a song with him that’s why I’m here. He said well he really doubted the possibility of that since he had already worked on a song already with Stanley enow (which hasn’t been released till date) and didn’t want to do many collaborations with artist from the same area. And Gasha insisted that he hears the beat, if he didn’t like the beat it’s ok for him to back out” And they left the studio room to the conference room and immediately Eddy KENZO heard the beat with the njang vibe, he wore a wow-look on his face. In Gasha ‘s words “his eyes changed from earth to Pluto”. he loved the beats and he charged for the collaboration $1000, which Gasha concurred to and later he proposed to Gasha that if she could pay $2000 he was going to transfer his rights to the song to Gasha which Gasha concurred to and the next day the song was recorded.
And in Gasha words after the recording she asked if they could shoot the video for the song, which he accepted but he wanted the video to be shot by DIRECTOR X who is a Canadian music director and has shot thousands of videos for American based artist like Chris brown , drake etc.
Gasha at the time wasn’t financially fit to pay for such a personality’s service.
Gasha then proposed to him that a concert could be organized to be headlined by Eddy KENZO in cameroon which she could still use that advantage to engage in her video shooting with Eddy KENZO. But KENZO asked for $12000 and because of other constraints surrounding the concert creation, it was halted.
Then after some weeks+ when Gasha was back in the country , Eddy KENZO was around the neighboring countries of cameroon for a show and thus, Gasha had to use that to her advantage and invited the artist to cameroon after paying his flight and accommodation, and the video was successfully shot in yaounde, center region of Cameroon and later released on Eddy KENZO YouTube channel.
