These two iconic rappers need no introduction to the public as long as pidgin rap is concerned in Cameroon. Because both rappers have stood the test of time on an individual level to grow their audience, market and music brand. Coincidentally their music careers both kicked off at a start from the streets of kumba and as we the media all know they are probably best of friends judging from their collaborations on the song YOLLO which SKIDI BOY featured MIC MONSTA and Cleo grae (a song from SKIDI BOY album ANAR) and on the mic MONSTA “days like this” song video which SKIDI features in as a character.
Now. Did mic monsta actually copy LOOBA from SKIDI BOY.
Well let’s have a research a little on this and let you be the judge.
8 months ago, the prolific rapper SKIDI BOY who has now gained a new street nickname “Pablo” as a result of his hit single titled PABLO which was a street anthem all over the anglophone regions and beyond. Released another single which he titled LOUBA. This song has a beat sampled from legendary old school music icon TAKAM || song which is titled KUANG (wawa wouwa). SKIDI BOY “LOUBA” possesses an instrumental which blends the cultural tunes of the bamileke tribe into Hip hop beats.
In the chorus of the song SKIDI says “ya MAN NA LOUBA, OBOY ya MAN NA LOUBA (wawa wouwa, waa ouuwa)” and the verses further explains societal happenings, self esteem and empowerment
Now 1month ago, Mic monsta drops an amazing body of work. An album to be precised which he entitles the “the stars are watching” and in this album project there is a song collaboration between MIC MONSTA featuring CLEO GRAE which is titled LOOBA produced by slimbeatz.
The instrumental of song is quite different from SKIDI BOY “LOUBA” same as the spelling of the song titles. But on message of the song there isn’t much of a difference with that of SKIDI BOY since it’s lyrics it’s empowered by literal word play and also talks about societal happenings, self esteem and empowerment
In the chorus of the song mic says. “My people ask for boutique but I market, steady taking shots on target, you can’t stop this cos they never seen my time before, MAN NA LOOBA OBOY MAN NA LOOBA”

The both songs have similar line patterns in their chorus, and we all know song instrumental samplings or lyrical copy is allowed in the world of music but it only becomes a crime if the original owner of the song hasn’t licensed out his/her rights/approval to the new project owner for him or her to use or sample her beat or copy lyrics. reasons why we will like you to click the links of both songs and tell us your own point of view. Do you think mic monsta actually copy LOOBA from SKIDI BOY LOUBA song without crediting him? Or it’s just a coincidence.
