It’s not a new journal that CAF President and executives have validated the creation and existence of the African super league. Which is aimed at bringing to a competition the best of clubs active within the last five years in football. Though this actually didn’t appeal well to Central Africa countries because their club teams haven’t perform well during other CAF interclub tournaments. According to the Filgoal website, The African Champions League and the Confederation Cup will be canceled and replaced by the Super league and another tournament called the African Champions Cup.
The same source adds that Patrice Motsepe has already started negotiating Super League sponsorship rights. The goal is to maximize profits and achieve financial rewards of over twenty million dollars.
The two African interclub competitions would, for this purpose, be replaced by the Super League and the African Cup of Champions. Even though the details of this last competition have not yet been communicated, the football body intends to launch the Super league from September 2023.
