Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has responded to the comments made by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentii, after he said he didn’t want to sign African players who would take part in AFCON

This statement from Napoli’s president has however awaken many mixed feelings as Africa players did not find it funny, because many saw it as disrespect to Africa football. Even though football in Africa at league tournaments isn’t as big and traffic driven as that of Europe, many African players still hold it as a debt to always defend their country’s flag in football both home and away.

In Mr Laurentiis defense many clubs suffer loses in it’s matches when these Africa players return home for the continental tournament especially for a team like Napoli who’s top strikers are all of Africa originality.

However that’s still isn’t much of an excuse to the many football fans as history has recorded the names of great African players like Samuel Eto’o, Didier drogba, Yaya Toure, Okocha, Mohammed Salah, Sedio mane etc. Whom all thanks to them, their Europe clubs could boast of certain trophies won and accolades received.
